Pearson, the world’s leading learning company, has received approval from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for PTE Academic to be accepted for all SDS (Student Direct Stream) applications. This announcement marks a significant milestone for PTE Academic as it expands its recognition for English language proficiency in the Canadian immigration and education sectors.
PTE Academic Approved for SDS Applications
Starting from August 10, 2023, PTE Academic will be accepted by the IRCC for SDS applications. The SDS is an expedited study permit process designed for students applying to study in Canada from specific countries, including Antigua and Barbuda, Brazil, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, India, Morocco, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Senegal, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, and Vietnam.
This recent approval follows the recognition of PTE Core by IRCC earlier this year as proof of English language proficiency for Canadian permanent residency or citizenship. With both PTE Academic and PTE Core now accepted by IRCC, Pearson offers a comprehensive range of English language proficiency tests to cater to different immigration and study needs.
