Hashim A. of Bazaar Click.

Tell us about yourself?

I am the founder of Bazaar Click. I previously worked in the education sector and recently decided to launch my website for the UK community.

What lessons has being an entrepreneur taught you?

Being an entrepreneur has taught me many lessons including resilience, optimism and consistency.

The key in entrepreneurship is to remain positive when facing obstacles which all businesses face.

I also learnt that seeking advice from others when starting a business may not always be beneficial as everyone has different perspectives and goals in life.

If you could go back in time to when you first started your business, what piece of advice would you give yourself?

To be more assertive in my decision making and to not overthink every minute detail. I would also network with as many professionals as possible in order to gain valuable knowledge and exposure in the community.

A lot of entrepreneurs find it difficult to balance their work and personal lives. How have you found that?

I haven’t found this to be the case as I was working part time. This allowed to dedicate more time to develop my company (Bazaar Click).

Give us a bit of an insight into the influences behind the company?

I was inspired by other classified sites and social media platforms. I wanted to improve and diversify the classified market by combining it as a classified business directory.

What do you think is your magic sauce? What sets you apart from the competitors?

We cater for a variety of untapped niches including modest clothing, marriages services and small businesses. All our ads are screened to ensure that they are ethical, permissible and legitimate.

How have you found sales so far? Do you have any lessons you could pass on to other founders in the same market as you just starting out?

The website is still at the start up stage so we are interested in gaining more users for the time being.

What is the biggest challenge you have faced so far in your business, and how did you overcome it?

Gaining exposure and traction is probably the biggest hurdle due to the fierce competition. Also keeping our operating costs as low as possible as the company hasn’t received substantial financing yet.

What do you find are the advantages of operating your business in London?

Operating my business in London and the UK provided great benefits in reaching a vast and relevant audience to my website.

Are there any issues with having a London based business? Have you experienced these?

I haven’t faced any major issues as my business doesn’t have a physical location.

How has the higher than UK average cost of living impacted your ability to work and live in London and how has this also impacted your ability as an employer?

It hasn’t impacted me as such as we kept our expenses low whilst also working different jobs to cover our expenses.

If you had to relocate your business to another city in the UK, which one would it be and why?

It doesn’t really apply as my business is solely based online.

How has BREXIT impacted your business (if at all)?

Didn’t impact my business as it’s online based.

What is your vision for your company in the next 5 years?

To gain substantial traction and to become the most ethical classified marketplace in the UK.

And finally, if people want to get involved and learn more about your business, how should they do that?

They can search for Bazaar Click on Google and social media platforms to learn more about my business.

Follow Bazaar Click on Twitter or Linkedin.
